This is a time where you get to be you and simply be.

I feel that we are all in recovery for something, whether it is a loss, a life transition, an eating disorder, alcohol/drug addiction, a relationship or perhaps an old part of ourselves we are wanting to let go and transform life gives us opportunities to self discover and grow.

To change an old narrative that no longer serves you requires courage, strength, and even patience. It takes time to heal and rediscover ourselves. As a wise woman named Angeles Arian, once shared “healing takes place in slow to medium pace…not fast and quick”.

Christine Pappas, MA, Psy.D, CEDS

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health profession, I've worked intensely with a variety of populations and treatment programs ranging from a private practice setting, Residential Program, Partial Hospitalization Program, and Intensive Outpatient Programs. I've had the honor of taking on a Clinical Director Position in the programs I was a part of which gave me a wide range of clinical experience and expertise. I have worked extensively with individuals and families recovering from disordered eating, drug and alcohol addiction, and mood disorders and understand the complexities of co-morbid diagnosis. I also have experience assessing the appropriate treatment needed for an individual requiring a higher level of care as well as supporting an individual to reintegrate back into his/her community after graduating from a treatment program. It is a gift to be part of one’s healing process and to create a supportive community that fosters insight and personal growth.

With compassion, creativity, and connection I empower patients to explore underlying issues that may bring on a sense of stuckness and stagnation in one's life. I have found it helpful to challenge old stories that no longer serve one's current circumstances. We can spend time exploring and developing a new narrative that is genuinely authentic and empowering. Incorporating practical life skill sets such as self care, identifying attainable goals, establishing a social support, and exploring one’s passion(s) are important ingredients towards promoting a sense of well-being.

Services I offer:

  • Individual Therapy
  • Couples Therapy
  • Develop and create support systems and resources

Explore, understand and gain insight into:

  • Life transitions
  • Stress management practices to enhance well-being
  • Self-care skills, mindfulness, and restorative practices
  • Building upon your strengths and exploring what is working (or not working) in your life to create more balance

I bring a sense of compassion, accountability and genuineness that helps guide you to find meaning and purpose in your life.

I look forward to working with you and welcome a complimentary twenty minute phone interview to move to the next step which is setting up an appointment.
